         Open Software

Below I will show how each of the two programs
that I use look when you first open the program.

The first program that I will show you will be PE-Design.
Please remember that I am using PE-Design version 4.
If
you are using a different version of this program, things
may look a little bit different, but the same steps
should still work.

First open Layout and Editing.  The opening screen will look like this.

Now you are going to IMPORT your design into the program.
Click on File - then on Import.  When you click on Import another little
box will open.  From this box click on "from File".

Now the program is going to ask you where the file is that you want to open.
When the little box opens to import a file, you will need to use the little arrow next
to the "Look in:" box to bring up the right design.  If you are using the
designs from the CD, you will click on the little arrow that points up next to the
look in box to bring up your CD drive.  Then on the file folder that holds
the designs in your format and VIOLA - the little box will come up that
should look a lot like the one below.

Now click on the name of the design.  If you have the little box marked "Preview" checked, you should see a miniature picture of the design.

Now all you need to do is to click in the box that says "Import", and the design
should open up in Layout and Editing.

pe select 2.JPG (118377 bytes)

Now that the design is open in Layout and Editing, click on File then on "Print".

You may want to have either tracing paper in your printer, or a piece of vellum.   However, I use regular paper with good success.  This is what will print from
your printer.  The print out will be of the design IN THE HOOP.  Notice that
all of the markings are there for you.  You can tell exactly how the design is going to sew out in the hoop.  You will also have great markings for the center of the design as well as the center points all all four sides of the hoop.
