Using
Templates For Design Placement |
I have been seeing lots and lots of questions from the people of the newsgroup about the use of templates for placing embroidery designs. For many of us, the Latte Quilt project is our first real project where knowing how to use templates for accurate embroidery design placement is a MUST. |
In order to print out a
template, you must own or have access to one of several different embroidery software
programs. The two that I own are PE Design v4, and Embird. Both of these
programs prints out a very nice template. I also understand that BuzzTools will also
print out a template, but I do not have that program, so I will not be able to show you
how to do it here. For the purposes of this
little tutorial, I am going to use the Parasol design for the first block in the quilt.
But, the steps will be exactly the same for what ever design you will use where you
need a paper template for placement. 1. Open Software (PE Design or Embird or Your embroidery software) 2. Bring up the design in the program 5. Place the template on the fabric 6. Put hoop in machine with stabilizer and sticky spray 8. Smooth out 9. Remove template 10. SEW |
